How the Online Gaming League factors into AQ:ETEThe OGL brought together a large number of North American AQ2 clans in competitive play. Through the sheer volume of matches played, certain problems surfaced again and again. Some of these problems included:
...and so on. AQ:TE was created to help OGL matches run more quickly and efficiently. Later becoming AQ:ETE, features were added and cheats and exploits were stopped. Now, in the latest incarnation, AQ:ETE 4.6b helps to determine whether or not the ping spread between teams is fair and allows for passwording the server without needing RCON. AQ:ETE 4.6b is the official AQ2 variant of the OGL. It has been refined and created with the help of the OGL ladder administrators and through feedback from the community. The OGL depends on AQ:ETE to run smoothly and AQ:ETE would never have existed if not for the OGL. |
