Site move, mSparks, April 16, 2009 |
|
In preparation for starting a release cycle for LTKTBM version 2, I've started the process of moving the website under the "TheBorgMatrix.com" domain name, and dropping the "www.cam-direct.co.uk" domain we've been using for the last few years, that means a few links will stop working while I find the time to update everything, but that's a "necessary evil".
I haven't finalised what form LTKTBMv2 will take exactly, other than as we come close to an official release v1.9 will go to free mirrors, it will incorporate some of the AI enhancements developed under LTBTBM, use a completely new engine base, and be the first public project to utilise the TBM_AI SDK.
Apologies for letting this site lag behind a bit, a lot of work has gone into LTBTBM which has become a truly mammoth project, but after the DARPA incident I decided to keep as much of that work out of the public domain as possible.
It seems we can now probably assume quakesrc is not coming back, I think I will start using quakedev instead, such is life. |

The Quake lives.
Quakesrc is not dead yet (just feeling ill )
LTKTBM is getting ready to come to a boil
LTBTBM is moving so fast its hard to keep up.
Welcome to 2008, A belated Merry Christmas and a Happy new year, You may be feeling a little nervous, scared at all the horrible news world corp keeps printing, and/or worried about your finances. But do not despair, 2008 promises to be an even greater year than 2007 -in which I officially became a university graduate with a 1st in economics and computer science - .
Im all moved into my new house, settled in and been working so hard for the last few months things here, admittedly were starting to feel a little neglected. But as the old saying goes, no news is good news (in both meanings of the phrase). Almost all of those last few months has been spent on LTBTBM, which keeps moving in leaps and bounds. The only thing holding LTKTBM up is a fully functional Linux client (go Smurphster ) - because all my work is now done in Fedora Linux. I have a fiery new machine, Intel quad core 64 bit and the best gfx card money could buy a few months ago. Once that is running I can start pumping out map routes. |

So the US finest in AI is 10 YEARS behind me!
for those of you still around from the early days (mostly TNN crew I believe), or just those who fancy a good laugh check out this patent sponsored by DARPA at www.uspto.gov : publication number 20070162405 (Characterizing and predicting agents via multi-agent evolution)
sound familiar? - check it out mSparks crazy space on the forums...
Its taken me a day or two to come to terms with the significance of the fact that this could mean a 10 year old piece of obsolete code I wrote and gave to the public domain when I was 17 may get a patent by such a powerful organization in the US with no credit to myself, and you wondered why the latest versions are not GPL, and the TBM developer overview has a big 'classified' stamp on it. |
